Finally Upgraded PC After 5 Years - 630 - Oct 29, 2022

I've got nothing better to do so I figured I'd share my new PC with everyone. Before I get the hate for purchasing a prebuilt I will disclaimer that I was out of town last week and got a text from a friend who works for Micro Center that there was a steal on a PC. They had a $~$2400 build marked down to $1625 so he snagged it for me. I had budgeted $2500 for a new PC that I planned on doing in the upcoming weeks but decided to do this instead. My only plans for it are swapping the case, adding more storage and cleaning up the wiring.

I've still got to do a lot of work to my cable management right now but I figured I'd take a break and share.

tldr: upgraded pc after 5 years. spent ~$1700 on a prebuilt that should have cost way more.

Damn what the fuck.. you got a steal for that PC. $1625 brand new? I got a similar setup as yours for $2200 a couple months ago and thought I got a steal:

One thing you could also do is upgrade your ram to DDR5 if you care enough. Not sure how much better performance you'd realistically get. Congrats on the new PC though, its killer! Enjoy it

Fire monitor/desk setup as well

Damn 630 , your old setup puts my current setup to absolute shame lol. I'd be more than content with your old one D:

I love the setup in general though, super clean and organized just the way I like it. ✅

Nice deal. I suppose my 8+ year old setup is due for an upgrade. Fairly sure I'm just going to replace the parts in the case. I think even the power supply I already have is sufficient.

My setup is just around that time too, going on 9+ years at the moment with slight upgrades here and there over the years.

I need a whole new setup at this point. Hell a new desk would be nice too lol.

Nice upgrade! I did the same a few months ago. I went from a pair of intel xeon LGA 1366 to AM4 ryzen 9. I was absolutely blown a way from the performance gain. I would like to upgrade my GPU but I'll wait for thee prices to drop a bit more.

Impressive. however i have got you both beat.
MY current system is 11 years old. been running 24/7.
i never shut it down.

In fact I'm afraid to shut it down for it may not boot up again. LOL.
I always build my own systems and at the time it was the shit/bad ass system.
Now today? its just a computer that does it's job.

BTW: 630 nice to see your still around.

I'm in the same boat in terms of I never shut my PC down, like ever. I restart it when there's an update but that's about it.

I can probably count on two hands the amount of times I've restarted this PC in the last 9 years lmao.

I'm not 100% sure if it's brand new or a return based off the labels on the outside of it. All I know is that I ripped off the the plastic on the glass today so I assume it's new or a return that was never used. You've got a nice build though and it's similar to what I would have done. At the moment I don't care enough to touch the game. I just browse the internet, stream and play Valorant so I don't see the need currently but time will tell.

Thank you very much I have moved since that photo so it's nowhere near it was but I plan on getting it back to its original state soon.

Long time no talk hope you're doing well. When I was planning for my next build I contemplated using parts of my old build as well. It had a 750 power supply and 3 TB of SSD's that I will probably move over. 8+ years is impressive though. I guess if it's not broke then don't fix it. My PC sounded like a jet engine under the slightest stress, has missing pieces in the case and was running super hot so I decided to make the upgrade.

Nice to see you too. I'm still around everyday I just never really post anymore.

I was like that at one point too when I was idling steam hours. It killed my power bill 😭. Never had the fear of it not turning it back on though.

Man I miss gaming… I used to have an iBiyPower gaming setup but I sold it for drugs lmao. Now I have an intel i3 baby laptop and I just play OW 2

RE: Finally Upgraded PC After 5 Years - Jinu - Oct 29, 2022

Even your old setup looks damn good. The present one is neat and looks minimalist.

RE: Finally Upgraded PC After 5 Years - LeetSpeed - Oct 29, 2022

Have you done any gaming yet?

RE: Finally Upgraded PC After 5 Years - vegetajgd - Oct 30, 2022

No gaming yet. I will probably play some valorant / csgo today. I need to transfer over my config still. I am looking forward to good frames though.
