Abolish the "Hide Last Online Time" Feature - N1ghtm4re - Dec 15, 2022
Okay Yeah! I am sorry but I actually cannot take it anymore. I never suggest anything, because honestly anything we ever recommend is so redundant in the long term but this at least to me is different.
Am I the only one sick of trying to do Business with someone in the Market here and when you go to view their Profile You can't even see when they were last online!
At first this may not seem too serious, because, of course, you can just go view the date/time of the last post they made to get a general idea. However, When time is of the essence and you could simply go with another Vendor, it can be upsetting to have to struggle to find a members Discord to Try to reach them, then that Discord is Invalid because actually they Are Not active on HF and you can't even see when they last visited (Understand that a last Post Date Is not equal to a Last Visit Date, I myself do business here in Private via PM and Contract vs Post most of the time) it can be very frustrating for those looking to find connections here, and we would never know if we can reach someone because they can hide when they were last online.
I respect the privacy, but Honestly realistically anyone using that feature is just an Ass, because WHO are yo Avoiding on HF? (Feel free to explain below I would love to Debunk) It is actually ridiculous how many members have that active for no reason other than trying to imitate the mysteriousness of the last guy.
I don't know but please do consider doing Something about this, as an active Buyer here I do find this annoying.

It seems you have had an unfortunate experience with someone. I have never seen anyone complain about this. I doubt many people even use this. I have always been able to see when the person was online on their profile.
I didn't even know it is a feature to be honest. I have tried looking but all I could see is "Hide me from who is online list"

That’s exactly what I was referring to I don’t even know how it could’ve been confused.
But no, I haven’t had a bad experience— I’ve had annoying experiences hence the point of the thread. You’re wrong, I’d even say a great majority of active members tend to use this feature; More so older members than New, considering MyBB functionality was common knowledge in earlier years.

Can you tell me where that option is? Also curious how it looks on someone's profile. Please link someone's profile who uses this. Literally can not recall myself about anyone's profile without last seen.

I personally disagree with this suggestion. I like the Hide Last Online Time feature, I like having the option and ability of using it as well. Do I use it myself? No I don't simply because I don't mind if people see what I'm browsing on HF, plus I'm more so here for the community anyway so it makes more sense in my case.
I can see how it could be annoying dealing with someone if they have HLOT enabled, however that's a fantastic perk for Ub3r members and also a strong incentive for L33t's to upgrade to Ub3r. For many they'll enable it immediately because they like their privacy, and for people like me I just like the fact that I have that feature available at any given time (and I have used it in the past for practical reasons too).
So with all of that, I would again disagree with this suggestion. I understand the idea behind it, however the positives of this feature imo far outweigh the very few negatives of it.
Gotta keep in mind too that HF stands for "Hack Forums" -- a feature where you can make yourself even more private, yeah I don't think the majority of people would be on board for removing something like that to be completely honest OP.

I believe these two statements contradict each other.
You don't have to be avoiding anybody to use this feature, privacy is privacy and should be respected no matter what.

I get N1ghtm4re issue with sellers who have this enabled. But we've gotten this far under the policy and not sure it's worth changing. Valid complaint though about sellers who do use this.
