Claim inactive/banned usernames. - Key - Jan 5, 2023
I'm not sure if this is already a thing, tried to find but couldn't.
There is a specific name that I wanna claim, but not sure if it's possible. It would be a great idea if you could claim rare/old usernames of inactive/banned members.
What's your opinion about this? Do you agree or disagree? Explain why.

I'm not quite sure if there's a way to claim banned accounts as of now. Admin does purge old accounts ever so often. Once they're "guests" then you can take their name.

Interesting, is this due the inactivity? So if an user is inactivity for a certain time, their name get resets, what happens if they return?

I'm not sure what metrics he uses to make those decisions. I believe it would be closed/banned/accounts that haven't been used since 2009 for example. Shit like that.

this has been denied before
However, maybe after 4-5 years of inactivity usernames should auto change to nameINACTIVE or nameX
either way, its not that big of a deal, plenty good usernames still out there

Would that be even possible? If it is I think it should have and/or require some bytes or payment to the forum....
