So....I have a really really dumb question I need to ask related to Python and just programming in general. I'm rather too embarrassed to post it here.

but i studied python for about a semester in uni. im by no means an expert, but im familiar with some of the standard features at least

Join a discord server like 'Python' 'The Programmer's Hangout' etc.. you will be able to get help way quicker

He would’ve been able to get help just as quick if he actually posted the question instead of solicited someone to PM.

Then you can just look it up on Google or StackOverflow.
In 90% of the cases, someone else must have asked that question already and you'll just get your answer there.
Else just post your question on StackOverflow and people will answer you.
You can also post your question here, in starting everyone asks these starter questions then with time you get the experience and become better at coding.
Don't be embarrassed about it.
