Bybass BIOS lock - Huntingcoffee - Feb 11, 2023
My friend forgot his BIOS lock password and was hoping i could help him
Ive been unable to bybass it so far
I can access windows but im trying to change the OS not just reset it
Its a HP Probook 450 G8 Notebook PC
BIOS is T70 ver.01.06.03 08/26/2021

I don't know if there is a bypass readily available for this model or not, but pre-programmed chips are $35 and require moderate soldering skills to remove the old one and install the fresh chip. A hardware bypass will always work if you can't find a software method.

Just take the BIOS battery off and put it back.

I haven't had success with this. The only thing that happened with the above method is that after a few tries, the laptop I was trying to change the OS on would no longer POST.

new machines that are being made now this cannot be done as the security is saved on the bios chip as the first response claims replacing the bios chip is the only option if you cannot do it bring it to a repair shop
