How can I open links safely? [viruses, ip loggers] - Lavaduck - Apr 19, 2023 What's the standard programs being used to open links safely without catching malware, viruses, etc;.? I also have a VPN and wanna know how to avoid getting that breached because of a link. I typically just open Kali and type the links in Firefox then I switch IP's on the VPN after I'm done. Seems to work so far against the people trying to get me. RE: How can I open links safely? [viruses, ip loggers] - PurpleMoss - Apr 19, 2023 Quite hard to get infected by malware just by clicking a link as there needs to be some sort of interaction with it, such as downloading and running a file. You could get a Beef hook I suppose which gives the attacker some sort of control over your browser, but this relies on JS running so you can just go into browser settings and disable JavaScript before you visit the link. Alternatively set up a VM and open it in that. RE: How can I open links safely? So is what I'm doing fine then? Opening links in a VM and then switching my IP again after I close it? Probably just opening them on TOR would be easier, maybe? RE: How can I open links safely? But I'd still say a VM with a VPN is better. RE: How can I open links safely? Or just be careful with suspicious links. |
