Change notification behaviour for PMs - Yani - Apr 24, 2023

I think it would be better if the PM count in the header is update live, and that PMs do not create a notification.

Right now you sometimes have 1 notification while the PM icon has none. But when you refresh or move pages, there's suddenly a number next to the PM icon and the notification icon still shows 1.

Interesting thanks. Is that link only for the notification thing or is it mixed with emails? Because i'd still like to get emails.

I still think having the PMs icon update live as well would be a good addition.

Those settings are strictly for Notify (websocket). Unrelated to emails.

And in the Notify settings there is an option for PM's.

Basically we already have a socket for notifications. I'm not going to disable the MyBB default PM notification system off, which is essentially what you're asking. All the settings and options you need are in your control.
