Apple vs. Microsoft - terrahigh - May 24, 2023 what do you like more, Microsoft or Apple? Please say in the comments why! RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - ╚{ RadioActive Hack }╝ - May 24, 2023 As companies I guess I like MS more. I love the Apple ecosystem even though I’ve never owned a Mac. The way apple products interact with each other just hits something deep inside me that I just love. If we are talking about OS, windows is just trash. OSX, I haven’t had enough experience with it to really judge. There are some features that interest me, but as a whole idk. Linux master race. <3 RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - Prepper - May 24, 2023 I am a windows kind of person, but I find windows to be more buggy and less refined than Apple products. And Apple usually is a bit more secure although that isn't a big deal if you don't do stupid shit. For example Windows Security/Defender is still broken from like 2 updates ago where core isolation isn't working properly. I believe Apple also has stronger privacy policies compares to Microsoft. RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - Undead - May 24, 2023 Strictly from a technical perspective I like how tightly integrated Apple's hardware and software is. Also I don't think Apple collects as much data as Windows OS which is behaving more like spyware. MacOS uploads your application use history to Apple. The iOS App store records every screen touch and interaction with the app and ties that to your Apple ID. Apple pretty much knows exactly how you use your iPhone and your Macbook. Their whole privacy claim is much like Google's where they just won't sell your info to third parties because they can make more money off you by not selling the usage data. Yeah, I think you're probably right about that. There's a perception that Apple is better in terms of privacy. I've also read that Apple is now trying to compete with Google by getting deeper into the data collection and advertising business. RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - terrahigh - May 24, 2023 apple is easy to use but windows is for the more advanced. do you not agree? You must have done a lot of research to come up with such a brilliant analysis. Or maybe you just copied and pasted it from some conspiracy theory website. Apple is nothing like Google when it comes to data collection. They respects your privacy and only collects data that is necessary to improve users experience. Tell me these are wrong. Tbh I don't have to do any research to know that Apple doesn't care about your privacy. As a company they don't give a shit about their customers so why would they protect your privacy? These are the people that are screwing over independent repair shops and customers that are sold self destructive planned obsolescence garbage. RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - BiNBo - May 24, 2023 From a systems administration point of view, I prefer Microsoft's environment. While it can be a little convoluted, the MDM/MAM allows me to do whatever I need device management wise. Their other admin tools make managing things like mailboxes, data loss prevention, and user licensing pretty simple as well among other things. That being said, their environment works best when it's being supplemented by better maintained 3rd party solutions for certain needs. Granted all of this is just my opinion. When it comes to daily usage as far as devices and operating systems go, I prefer windows for my workstation(s) but iOS is better for my mobile needs personally. RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - Royal ! - May 24, 2023 Why are you even comparing the two?. No point. RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - Pootje - May 25, 2023 I like Apple more compared to Microsoft RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - webdev77 - May 28, 2023 (May 28, 2023 02:44 PM)Animal Wrote: I have better things to do than read those articles. Apple products are the choice of the elite, from billionaires to journalists to politicians. Do you really think they would use them if Apple was tracking everything? Apple only collects some data to make their services better, not to spy on their users like you think. You should stop watching conspiracy nonsense at night and get some beauty sleep. Yes. Because you don't have other options. Take your pick of iOS or Android. Both track you in various ways. Why are you so hell bent on defending a multi-trillion company that doesn't care about you? You are calling me a conspiracy theorist yet you refuse to read facts presented right to you from well known sites? RE: Apple vs. Microsoft - Poppy Harlo - May 28, 2023 Apple's hardware is pretty good, but I think windows is trying to be more 'universal' as an OS. |
