ALPHV (BlackCat) Ransomware Group on a Rampage - fredfuchs - Jun 18, 2023

ALPHV (aka BlackCat or Noberus), the badass ransomware group making waves in the cybercrime world! 🚀

ALPHV is a next-gen Ransomware as a Service (RaaS) operation, coded in Rust and ready to wreak havoc on Windows, Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, ReadyNAS, Synology), and even VMWare ESXi. 💻

This group means serious business, with ALPHV deploying its wicked skills since November 18, 2021. And guess what? They’ve got a slick icon of a black cat on their leak site, earning them the name “BlackCat” among us security researchers. 🐱

ALPHV’s got all the tricks up its sleeve: AES or ChaCha20 file encryption, volume shadow copy deletion, process and service termination, and even the ability to stop virtual machines on ESXi servers. They go the extra mile by using PsExec for self-propagation on local networks. 😈

Here’s a link to their screenshot of their Tor page.
