How to correctly configure VNC Server for remote access to Raspberry Pi - Lukasi - Jul 5, 2023

As a beginner, I spent a day installing VNC Server. I took many detours. Now I will release the correct method through this thread, hoping that other beginners can save time and achieve fast installation

Step 1: First uninstall the VNC software included with Kali

Code
sudo apt-get purge tightvncserver

Step 2: Go to the official website to download the Raspberry Pi version of VNC Server, remember to choose ARM64

Step 3: Enter the download directory and install a new VNC Server

Code
sudo dpkg -i VNC-Server-7.5.1-Linux-ARM64.deb

(Replace VNC-Server-7.5.1-Linux-ARM64.deb with the latest version you downloaded yourself)

Step 4: Start VNC Server

Code
sudo raspi-config

If an error is reported, please run it

Code
apt --fix-broken install

Restart the VNC Server, and then you can successfully connect through the VNC Viewer client on another computer. Implement remote access to Raspberry Pi

You could probably add a command to download the VNC server. Something like:
Code
wget https://downloads.realvnc.com/download/file/viewer.files/VNC-Viewer-7.5.1-Linux-ARM64.deb

So you could do:
Code
sudo apt-get purge tightvncserver
wget https://downloads.realvnc.com/download/file/viewer.files/VNC-Viewer-7.5.1-Linux-ARM64.deb
sudo dpkg -i VNC-Server-7.5.1-Linux-ARM64.deb
rm VNC-Server-7.5.1-Linux-ARM64.deb
sudo raspi-config

I have learned how to configure this and look forward to the next step of teaching😁
