[Oldschool Runescape] Which languages for scripting, and where to learn? - Europe - Aug 14, 2023 Hey guys, i'm looking for people who can guide me in the right direction. Which programming / scripting languages to create OSRS scripts, and where to learn? RE: [Oldschool Runescape] Which languages for scripting, and where to learn? - LoremIpsum - Aug 15, 2023 I think it was Java I used to edit when botting at OSRS. I edited scripts that ran on Nexus, a bot made for OSRS back then. Also Jagex seems to be using Java for their games online. Not sure if they still do though. RE: [Oldschool Runescape] Which languages for scripting, and where to learn? - Aeon - Aug 22, 2023 I would use Python with some kind of Pathfinding AI (advanced) or some simple PyAutoGui (python library) script to do a simple bot task such as managing bank items or fletching for me. RE: [Oldschool Runescape] Which languages for scripting, and where to learn? - GruntStyl - Aug 23, 2023 Oh man this brought back some memories lol.. about 10-12 years ago friends and I would write bot scripts using the EpicBot and one other client? I can't remember the name. We made quite a bit of money from that stuff back in the day. Along side that we would do Call of duty level/prestige mods. Which actually made more $$$ than the Runescape botting scripts did. Scripting back then (not sure about now) sort of died off because 90% of people would use the free scripts and get banned 6 months later when generally had they paid for a premium scripts they would have been fine.. Granted I know detection has advanced since then. Back then we used Java and Python. There was also a software you could use to get in game Object and Item ID's which you will also need to do can't remember what that was called either lol. RE: [Oldschool Runescape] Which languages for scripting, and where to learn? - welchie - Aug 23, 2023 Depends if you want to code for a specific botting platforms or client plugins. I believe both are java. RE: [Oldschool Runescape] Which languages for scripting, and where to learn? - MIkeMix6 - Oct 1, 2023 I agree with comment upper, use java or python RE: [Oldschool Runescape] Which languages for scripting, and where to learn? - WebArt - Oct 1, 2023 OSRS is written in Java, and many players use Java-based bot scripts. Learning Java is a good choice if you want to create OSRS scripts. and you can learn java from official Oracle website |
