Help - Sha256, hash is known but the salt is unknown - Edsirmods10 - Aug 25, 2023 Hi! I trying to crack a sha256 hash but the salt is missing in the leak. However I do know that the salt lengh is only 9 plaintext numbers so it could be easy. I'm using hashcat and i'm thinking something like using a wordlist for the actual hash and brute forcing the salt, my question is how do I do this? I have used hashcat for a while now, cracked many types of hash types however it have always been either without salt or the salt i known. Maybe i'm thinking completly wrong here but this should be possible right? And if yes then how? Could really use some help on this :) Thanks in advance! |
