Mirai Botnet Variant 'Pandora' Hijacks Android TVs for Cyberattacks - BiNBo - Sep 7, 2023 Quote:A Mirai botnet variant called Pandora has been observed infiltrating inexpensive Android-based TV sets and TV boxes and using them as part of a botnet to perform distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. https://thehackernews.com/2023/09/mirai-botnet-variant-pandora-hijacks.html?_m=3n%2e009a%2e3142%2eko0ao44mtb%2e24o0 A fun and fascinating little read, their persistence techniques are actually pretty clever too. RE: Mirai Botnet Variant 'Pandora' Hijacks Android TVs for Cyberattacks - Rionxee - Sep 7, 2023 A few years ago if you had told me TVs could be used for DDoS I would have told you to fuck off. IoT devices are such a vulnerable aspect of our lives, we get complacent and forget that due to the increasing interconnectedness of devices we are vulnerable in our homes via our smart devices. Our smart home cameras are just probably the worst and most vulnerable for bad actors. I digress, pretty interesting read. RE: Mirai Botnet Variant 'Pandora' Hijacks Android TVs for Cyberattacks - Vеrt - Sep 8, 2023 That's actually insane. Some hackers are just so unique and persistent. I for sure agree with Rionxee I would have told you that you were nuts if you'd told me you could DDOS with a tv.
