Port Forwarding Issue (Newbie) - KennyX - Nov 11, 2023 Hello, I'm a guy who is just starting out (literally a week ago). I've been trying to mess around with different RATs recently but I continuously run into the same issue, so it is not the RAT's fault. My ports all stay closed. My windows firewall allows the ports I want to use to be open both in Inbound Rule and Outbound Rule. I do not have any other firewall. The ports are opened through port mapping on my router. It is not a VPN issue since the same issue persists even on my home IP address. My IP address is static. Yet, even though I've made sure all of these things are correct, the ports are still not open when I check whether or not they are. I'm lost now and I have no idea what it is I'm meant to do, I've googled for solutions but nothing has worked so far. I would really appreciate any help. Thank you RE: Port Forwarding Issue (Newbie) - Kayfoxz - Nov 11, 2023 (Nov 11, 2023 01:06 PM)KennyX Wrote: Hello, I assume you’re doing this for testing purposes only, I STRONGLY advise you not do this for malicious purposes. You can always attempt to use UPNP with some rats, a VPS is strongly recommended. Otherwise I really am not sure. I’ve never had issue setting up rats in testing environments nor on a VPS. Only if you are using your home PC IP, you need to forward the ports on the router. Othervice just on the VPN. You can check if your ports are open, therefore you open you RAT, choose the right port for listening and goto the following site : https://canyouseeme.org/ Make sure to listen to those ports you have forwarded on your router, or opned in the VPN. Turn off firewall. As long as you have closed ports, you have done something wrong. RE: Port Forwarding Issue (Newbie) - DramaKing - Nov 11, 2023 Use Nmap on the public and private IPs and see if the port is closed or filtered. The application should be allowed through the firewall. You cannot be connected to a VPN in most cases. And if you sent me your RAT, I would be reporting your IP. Hello, using a VPS solved my problem, thank you. And yes I am using this because I would like to learn about the workings |
