Well, it is relatively early in my Wednesday so far. We got hit with some snow yesterday so this morning was spent shoveling from what came down last night and then shoveling the end of the driveway after the plow went through. Going to hop in the shower here soon and then work on creating more content for my Instagram/TikTok pages that will be posted throughout the day. Also waiting on a client to purchase their web hosting and domain name so I can build out the website I designed for them. RE: Wednesday Wins - Charlie Sheen - Jan 10, 2024 Nothing as of yet. Had the morning call, now about to head out to check up on a project. Been a very slow morning. Hope to get a lot done today still. RE: Wednesday Wins - DashPHP - Jan 10, 2024 i just went to pick up my glasses. Pretty happy with them. I also slashed my iphones screen somehow and now there's a scratch covering the height of the phone lmfao idk how i did that. That's cool - are they buying hosting directly from you, or are you referring them to a provider? (Jan 10, 2024 08:24 AM)Charlie Sheen Wrote: Nothing as of yet. Ours is supposed to be 15-30 mins, but is routinely 30-60 minutes :( (Jan 10, 2024 08:33 AM)DashPHP Wrote: i just went to pick up my glasses. Pretty happy with them. Nice - prescription or sunglasses? I saw that about your phone, keep that for the whining wednesday thread ;) RE: Wednesday Wins - Jake Johnson - Jan 10, 2024 (Jan 10, 2024 08:36 AM)nodes Wrote: Ah our snow has mostly melted from the other day - yesterday was super super super rainy in East Coast USA. This client is through Fiverr. With those clients I don't like to do anything where they buy hosting directly for me because it can just get messy. This one is for a WordPress website I will just build with Elementor Pro based on the design I created in Figma. So I just send them links to Hostinger or dreamhost wordpress plans. I have had the thought of adding a page to my personal portfolio website that would only be used for SEO purposes and possibly to run Google ads. It would be a page to target local companies/individuals looking for websites. I'd probably focus on WordPress websites as using Elementor Pro would allow me to build them a lot quicker than custom coding while I am still in college at the moment. If I go that route since they would be local or somewhat local clients I would purchase cloud hosting through cloudways and then charge the clients either a monthly or yearly rate for hosting. Then I can just expand the server storage when I need to add new websites on etc... At least I have heard of other web designers going this route and it is a great way to make easy extra income off of charging the clients for hosting. Prescription glasses, though my eyes are actually really good. Just the right eye which is slightly weaker. Ah nice - I used to rock with Fiverr but the last time I applied I got denied for being too high risk. I was offering high cost smart contract coding services, so I'm not too surprised. I might reapply to do my standard dev work - always nice to make a few extra thousand per year doing odd jobs on weekends. Even with the glasses on, I still struggle to read text for long using the right eye. Maybe there is an adjustment period for wearing new prescribed glasses. Text is much clearer on the right eye but not as on the left. Left is super sharp and super strong lol xd RE: Wednesday Wins - Hackers - Jan 10, 2024 (Jan 10, 2024 09:13 AM)DashPHP Wrote: Even with the glasses on, I still struggle to read text for long using the right eye. My dad has issues like that where only 1 is really bad, so he has special glasses that help adjust them without giving him migraines. special glass for each eye. I would say I read better in dark mode thinking about it now. I did a thorough Eye test including 3D Scan of the eyes and everything came pretty good, just that my right is indeed weaker. The score rating he said was 0.25 on the left 0.50 on the right and then he said my right eye is weaker than my left by 10-20%... The score rating he said was yeah definitely explore dark mode for your OS, specific programs, etc. It can be a lot better long-term on the eyes from what I've heard. RE: Wednesday Wins - Syndicate - Jan 10, 2024 Absolutely nothing! I've just been browsing HF and drinking my coffee, but I'll be heading out to work soon RE: Wednesday Wins - Eran - Jan 10, 2024 I've made 45k+ bytes flipping from a 1k donation :) RE: Wednesday Wins - diiaz - Jan 10, 2024 I’ve done my daily 200 pushups.
