RPG/adventure. Mostly any online RPGs.

TLDR: FPS have always been my go to. I got a GF ( I know, gamer nerd has a gf..) and now I play MMOs, RPGs, and FPS (not as much as I did when I was growing up).

So this has changed for me over the years. I grew up playing FPS games quite a bit and followed eSports way back in the early 2000s. I still play FPS games as they have a special place in my heart, though as I grew older and got a girlfriend (hopefully to be my wife someday), the games I played slowly changed from FPS primarily to more Adventure, MMO, RPG, etc. I have always built my own systems and was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to teach my significant other how to do so as well. She was a complete NOOB at not only games, but PC building and the whole deal in general so FPS games weren't exactly her go to when learning how to play on PC.
It's been awesome to see her improve over time and begin to play FPS games, or games the require more eye-hand coordination.
Again, who knows what it will be in 5 years time. Things change! Having her be new to gaming also gave me the opportunity to play games that I wouldn't have previously as I never had any friends who liked MMOs, RPGs, or those kinds of games.

Depends on if it's a single or multiplayer game. Single player I love my RPGs. Multiplayer I'm a FPS person mainly. I of course love many games outside of those genres, but I think the ones I've played and enjoyed most fall into those categories.
