Less media hype compared to the previous ATH? - Net - Mar 14, 2024

Is it me or is there less media hype regarding Bitcoins new ATH? I swear I maybe read a few articles regarding it. Compare it to the last ATH, where I thought every 2nd article was about crypto and Bitcoin.

Usually will come once BTC does at least 2x the previous ATH, then things will be heated and hyped ASF. Most likely July-August this year.

They will wait for 100k and then the mainstream news will start talking about it. That's when you start getting into short positions...

Truthfully, while it's a new ATH... It's irrelevant. The halving in coming up in around 36 days or so. Post halving, by the end of the calendar year, this past ATH will be close to doubled. Historically speaking, that's what always happens. Not to mention prior to the halving, BTC prices will ramp up as well.

This is because of what happened in 2021. The entire world got hyped up for crypto, you were seeing it everywhere, and then everyone got burnt. Orgs were hounded for their ads leading retail investors to losses. People were being sued left and right. Made it seem like the entire landscape was a scam. We won't see the media cover crypto like that again.

Blackrock owns a large portion of most news outlets. It would be stupid to hype up BTC pumping when they are trying to get as many investors in before the halving. Im sure they are telling the media companies to not cover it excessively.

I think so. Last time everyone I knew was talking about it, or had heard something about it, and this time around I'm getting a lot less feedback about it. Interesting.

I see it all the time on cnbc. But expect more during/post the halving.

I remember when tesla bought $1.5b worth of bitcoin and it exploded in the news. Grayscale alone now holds $30b worth of bitcoin and I've seen like 1-2 news articles on it?

Also spot bitcoin ETFs require institutions e.g., fidelity, blackrock, etc. to back the shares sold to investors with real currency. These wallets are usually kept secret for obvious reasons only the SEC knows their real holdings after audits.
