Whats your biggest life regret so far? - Syndicate - Mar 27, 2024

As the title says, what's your biggest regret in life?

There has been quite a few for me unfortunately. Throughout the years. I don't want something so simple as "I regret not investing in BTC" or something. One of my biggest regrets would have to be not taking a job offer that I should have taken the opportunity. I was too comfortable where I was currently working and the amount of work I would have had to do wouldn't have been worth it.

My biggest life regret was receiving a settlement of $13,000 six years ago and pissing it away on alcohol, drugs bars and nothing to show for it. I wish I would have made a down payment on some land / a house.

I don't have huge regrets and believe that my entire past has led to my current life. I love my current life and therefor even my worst moments are an important part of my journey to current times. So, wouldn't change much.

That said, there are things I think about anytime this question is asked:
- not taking HS seriously, going to 4 different HS
- dropping out of college, but arguably might've been my BEST decision to be honest. Just wish I knew that answer.
- going to Portugal w/ a friend (ended up boring) instead of seeing The Rolling Stones play live in England
- Going to the Bahamas with my family instead of going to Argentina with my rugby team for a tournament
- Tossing a phone to someone instead of handing it to them and damaging their eye (not permanent but they had a blackeye for weeks)
- not leaving / selling my own company 1 year earlier, I lollygagged and dragged my feet on that

I'm sure there are others, but as I said - I don't live with many regrets. All that has happened has led to "this" and I love "this" .

Not getting into crypto early despite of having such exposure in early days

My biggest regret was not buying a house before covid. I thought about doing it, but I didn't and there's nothing I regret more than that. Now, houses are way too expensive, interest is high, etc. And obviously, covid set me back a good bit on money.

My biggest regret is not taking school seriously. Both high school and tech school. I ended up doing decent for myself, but knowing how much better off I could be is irritating. And at 42, it seems like I am probably not going to excel any further.

Not spending more time with family when I was too busy focusing on making money and hanging out with friends.

Everyone I love has died in the last 5 years. Both parents died, uncle dead, best friend of 9 years ghosted me, all I got left is a brother who lives in another state and we barely talk.

This is tough man, but you do need to focus on yourself at times as well. I'm sorry to hear bro!

Oh man this list is a big one now that I'm in my mid 30's.

Keeping the bitcoin I bought in 2010 would be a big one for me. Realizing I'm wasting my time on people who don't care about me or my life would be another big on.

Getting into heroin and meth. That combo almost destroyed me about a decade ago and took me a long time to recover and turn my life around. While I do regret it, I've also grown so much because of that experience.

Had someone offer me a stake in an NFT project he was running, I refused it because I was working on my own.

My project made about 10k usd, his made a little over 4 million. Could've been a millionaire right there right then, but let's trust that everything happens for a reason.
