RE: $15 Ring Doorbell - diablospartan - Mar 29, 2024

Well i think i will purchase one as i need one at my front door as too many neighbours disturb me all the time

RE: $15 Ring Doorbell - Omniscient - Mar 31, 2024

That's a great deal. All doorbells are already wired so you just replace that one I believe. For me though, I'm not smart wiring my home and giving Amazon and whoever a video camera to my front door. I'd be more inclined to go older models of cameras that can be from an IP instead of an App.

It's scary to think about the amount of surveillance people are willing to install in their own homes. Pass for me.

Pretty sweet find! If it was wireless I'd for sure be picking it up. I don't have any wiring for a doorbell and don't plan on running any :(

It seems that this site does not ship to countries in Europe. Too bad because this looks like a good deal!

RE: $15 Ring Doorbell - Raven™ - Mar 31, 2024

I would have gone for this but too bad, it does not ship to my country

Seriously, they use AI facial recognition on all of these ring doorbells. If you want a smart home so badly, make one yourself. If people truly understood the level of surveillance our favorite 3 letter organizations are capable of they would think twice before handing them video evidence of everything they do.

Some people have the ring cameras inside their home as well. It reminds me of when they were giving out the google home minis for free.

As much as I agree, if there are hundreds of millions of people using these, how and why would they spy on ME? Is my thoughts.

Also, they have caught murderers with those in-home ring cameras, the teen who killed Aiden Fucci, his mom was caught cleaning his bloody pants and was charged with evidence tampering, due to an in-home cam, coincidentally enough, the teen was also caught on a neighbor's ring camera which tied him to the case... Also, the company Ring does cooperate with law enforcement.

Forgot what I was mainly going to post, lol...

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Benjamin Franklin

It's the classic debate of if I'm doing nothing wrong what do I have to fear?

If you want these quality of life upgrades in exchange for your privacy by all means purchase the product.

We tend to think that the government would need people to be watching these feeds spying directly, but the sad reality is that it's all done thru AI now. Picks up trigger words and using facial recognition.

Though that is true for everything nowadays, I just would prefer to not have a direct camera linked to a system like this on my property, but that is a personal choice of mine. The doorbells are sweet absolutely, but there is a reason they push them so much.

. Thomas Jefferson also said something similar: "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both. He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither"

That's really deep, I looked up what ole Benjamin Franklin said and found ^that... The fact they basically warned us about this 200+ years ago says a lot. People are very oblivious to what's really going on these days, the higher ups really know what the heck they're doing.
