[Fallen Friday] Install Kali Linux in a VM - anoncrab - Apr 1, 2024
Today, I will be showing you how to install Kali Linux in Virtualbox. This guide was mainly made for beginners to hacking, if you want to learn how to hack, Kali Linux is a great OS for cybersecurity and ethical hacking. There are plenty of videos online explaining how to use it as well.
This guide was made for those of you that have Windows installed on your computer, since I assume that's what the majority of people are using. However you can still do this on Linux or even macOS.
Step One: Download Virtualbox by clicking on the "Windows hosts" link on this website.
Step Two: Install Virtualbox.
Step Three: Download the Kali Linux for Virtualbox here.
Step Four: Download and open the VirtualBox Extension Pack here.
Step Five: Scroll down, and click "I agree."
Step Six: Extract the Kali linux virtual box 7zip file you downloaded earlier. If you can't extract it, install 7-zip from https://www.7-zip.org/
Step Seven: Open Virtualbox, click "Import", and find the "kali-linux-2024.1-virtualbox-amd64.vdi" file and import it.
Step Eight: Click Start on the newly created VM.
Step Nine: Login with the username root and the password toor
Step Ten: Enjoy Kali Linux inside of Virtualbox!
