illegal activities, anonymity, lenovo or macbook - xwer2rcfr3fdfwf - Apr 10, 2024 hi everyone. i am a programmer who loves his macbook. i am a poweruser, have everything set up really good for my needs. HOWEVER: i want to completely separate my hacking/cyber security/illegal activities from my legal ones, so i decided to buy a separate laptop for this. i bought a lenovo T480s and put kali linux on it: - encryted ssd - mullvad VPN, kill switch, wireGuard protocol - firefox with maximum security - for illegal research, tor browser - complete new mailbox - no logins from my real life - keepass - openSnitch (software firewall) this is my starter setup for my hacking journey. HOWEVER: the lenovo does not feel the same like a macbook. feel, workspeed, ergonomy and so on .. i also already bought another macbook (2017, older one). my question for you is: are there any concerns with using an apple macbook for illegal stuff? i want to set up my macbook like this: - no apple id - completely disable all home calls via software firewall (little snitch) - no cloud features - encrypt ssd - mullvad VPN, kill switch, wireGuard protocol - firefox with maximum security - for illegal research, tor browser - completely new mailbox - no logins from my real life - keepass what are your ideas about, lenovo, macbook, anonymity? how is your personal setup? i hope you can give me inspiration and have a nice day ;) RE: illegal activities, anonymity, lenovo or macbook - bob123123123 - Apr 12, 2024 One level higher you could go is with a VM for a little extra security. I know when I'm visiting sites that are a bit questionable I always do it from a Linux VM. That way should a virus or anything ever get me it'll most likely only get the VM and not my whole machine. I don't have a ton of experience on Macs cause I just don't have a use for them but I do know it seems like an email and their tracking of you are two things you'll have to deal with. The rest of your list though looks real good for safety/security. RE: illegal activities, anonymity, lenovo or macbook - xwer2rcfr3fdfwf - Apr 19, 2024 anyone has opinions about using apple macbook for hacking? i an really unsure, weather i should stick with linux or macos.
