Making a GUI for a Rust program - exploits - Apr 26, 2024 Whats the best framework to use for this? I already have rust up and msvc installed, So do I just need a certain framework embedded in my crate to just recompile the program? Also would it be better to compile the GUI as a native windows application or just a Rust GUI? RE: Making a GUI for a Rust program - SIM-3364521 - May 18, 2024 A Rust program will be a native windows application. And no I would not suggest to use the Winapi directly. Just use something like this: https://github.com/imgui-rs/imgui-rs. Online you hear a lot that it's only for debugging and whatnot, but it can be styled however you liked, is free, easy, lightweight... I can't see any better overall choice do develop a GUI. Also imgui is widely used and has a huge community behind it, so you will find help online unlike for other GUI libraries. Well from the past 2 months I made a personal application that let's me count most of my git commits much like a git statistic to make me motivated instead of being depressed and stressed. I have used this https://github.com/linebender/druid which 100% works on my windows, mac and linux operating systems as I use multiple operating systems and I need something "unified". I hope this helps my friend. 🙃 RE: Making a GUI for a Rust program - n1k7 - Nov 24, 2024 One cannot ask for better than this https://github.com/iced-rs/iced - it is mature with a huge code base and developers constantly adding features. - - Good luck. |
