Qubes OS - Who's using? - 7 - Jun 1, 2024 Hi, Just wondering who's using QubesOS. I have started playing round with it and hoping to make it my daily driver but with i3WM as I love i3. There are a few challenges I will be taking such a GPU passthrough for video editing, graphics and possibly audio (lets see how that goes) If I cannot get the GPU passthrough working no worries ill dual boot for gaming, I don't game often anyway. Anyway, anyone using Qubes lmk, be good to get some tips from experienced users So after a quick play around with qubes in the past few hours. Its not that complicated and actually very cool, there are a few problems and downsides but many positive side. Dedicated VM's must faster whether it be windows VM (Yet to try using passthrough GPU et.c) or Kali or whatever AppVM's EXTREMELY cool Network Cubes cool want to try creating VPN Cubes Vault great for Keepass and other documentation Downside so far - Battery life but I have i9 12th Gen CPU and Dedicated GPU 3070ti... so its killing it RE: Qubes OS - Who's using? - 7 - Jun 5, 2024 So anyway. On this trip I am still on my advice is if you need RDP dont use remmina its shit Go with Windows Standalone and RDP from there. For some reason its much much faster |
