It is the same website but the .Onion domains use onion routing. That means that the website is not more secure but you are. Onion routing means that the info is send from you to 3 nodes that hide and encrypt your info from the Internet service provider and makes it harder for the feds to find out what you are doing. Keep in mind that keeping good OPSEC is also important when staying save on the .oinion domains.

Reddit is owned by tencen, it's by default unsafe. But if reddit didn't officially say about their tor service, there's high possibility that the page is either fake or phishing.
