Problems with the interface in kali linux - SIM-5186353 - Jul 9, 2024
I turned on my kali llinux and i found it like this https://imgur.com/a/kXSlwRJ, i tried reinstalling xfce and didn't work, i also tried using gnome but it also didn't work.
Any solution or idea? i don't want to lose any file there. I can only use terminal and the apps in the up bar, and when i do full screen in virtual box the up bar dissapears.

Is it updated? Might need to reconfigure the desktop environment. Or backup everything and start fresh.

Apparently, switchdesk will do it. I think dpkg-reconfigure <package name> will set the display manager.
Is there a reason why you posted in the IoT forum and not Linux?
