How would you want your childrens childhoods to be different from your own? - Eran - Aug 3, 2024

I would definitely not want for my children to see their parents struggle financially.

I don't want it to be too different, as I feel that the challenges I faced made me into who I am today. To be honest man, I have no idea what I'm doing as a parent. I wing this shit every single day, and hope that I'm doing a good job. I grew up a child of divorce, like so many others. It's my hope that my kids don't have to. There's nothing wrong with that, just in my case my mom dated abusive men and we were forced to be around that environment. I hope they never have to go through that.

Disciplined, responsible. Unfortunately, I wasn't like that as a child.

Reading your reply I got reminded of a quote I read quite a few times ''go easy on your parents, it's their first time living too''

I agree with you on that. I think and wish if I had kids. I would want them to freely be able to eat whaterver they want meaning I won't have to tell them put that back because I don't have enough money for that.

Also to live comfortably and be able to get private tutors for school work.

For me when growing up... had an upper poor class at that start to a mid-middle class childhood.
I would want my kids to have a better childhood that mine. 😥

I would definitely make sure that they have both parents in their life.

I would want them to have the ability to get out more. I never was allowed to go hang out with friends, there really was no logical reason behind the crude act of keeping me indoors all the time. It was just a controlling household.
