Looking for beginner hackers to learn with - StinkButt420 - Aug 10, 2024

Hello.

I'm looking for very new beginner hackers to start a learning group with. The end goal is to host our own CTF and KOTH games. I'm searching for 9 people.

I'm looking for younger guys/gals, I'm not in my 20s yet. I'd primarily talk in Discord, but maybe I'd get Telegram to do it there if we must.

No illegal activity, just a group sharing resources, learning together, sharing passion, etc.

Hell, we'll even name ourselves.

If you're serious about learning, I am mentoring one person right now and I wouldn't mind taking on one more person. Obviously it wouldn't be free, but I am pretty reasonable for what I offer considering my experience.

Great idea as long as you keep all discussion on HF or upgrade your account.

This sounds good in theory, but if you are wanting to learn proper methods and techniques, then wouldnt it be wise to have at least 1 experienced member in the group to be able to help, direct you in the right path and answer your questions? I dont mean someone to tell you what to do, as that wouldnt really be learning, which is your goal, but someone to help you if you get stuck.

I'm too new, I can't shoot a PM. Time to do some trolling.

Not really, I just need to be more active. Says "high quality" posts are what I need. Now I just need to dig and find something interesting I can rant or talk about for hours.

Amazing idea. Doing walkthroughs can help, but having one guy with real experience/knowledge keeping it from going definition rag-tag could be VERY useful.

If you click on someones profile, on the top right hand side, there is a chat bubble, click it - it starts a private chat in the convo area of the forum.

Ill be more than willing to help you if you need/want. My time is somewhat limited at the moment due to studies, but i come on a few hours a day when i need a break.

I have a Discord for beginners. That was before I knew that only vendors can share Discord servers. Learn the rules in the Help Docs if you want to stay safe and stay a member.

Where did you get your certification by the way? Is it a long process?

It was about 10 months of a course from TheCyberMentor, one from ITPro.tv, a study guide, and EC-Council's course, plus plenty of practice tests.

It's not cheap, but you'll learn a lot. I didn't actually pay for it; my employer provided it on a secondary platform. There are others that have ITPro.tv courses that you may get for a cheaper subscription or buy like icollege.
