osint - gokulsspace - Aug 11, 2024 how to develop osint skills in bug bounty and grey hat? RE: osint - Bastille - Aug 11, 2024 Hey, welcome to HF Your post isn't very clear ... OSINT : stands for Open Source Intelligence. It involves collecting and analyzing publicly available information from various sources like the internet, social media, news outlets, government reports, and more. This information is used for various purposes, including security, law enforcement, and business intelligence Bug bounty : programs are initiatives where organizations invite individuals (often called “ethical hackers” or “security researchers”) to identify and report security vulnerabilities in their software, websites, or systems. Participants are typically rewarded with monetary compensation, recognition, or other incentives based on the severity and impact of the discovered vulnerabilities. Grey hat : someone who falls between the ethical boundaries of white hat (ethical) and black hat (malicious) hackers. Grey hat hackers may exploit security vulnerabilities without permission but typically do so without malicious intent. They often report the vulnerabilities to the affected organizations, sometimes expecting a reward or recognition. I've never seen OSINT bug bounty programs. You can't do "grey hat" in bug bounty programs as they have rules and you need to use your real identity to get the rewards. Now that you have the definition of the terms and some explanations, please ask again your question. EDIT : You posted in the Website Hacking section, what's the link with your thread ? Try to post in the most appropated section. |
