Thoughts on Pi Coin? - Effexion - Aug 28, 2024
I have been mining Pi for a while now and have just short of 300. I saw that they were getting ready to make it tradable outside of the wallet but it can be traded through the wallet now.
I'm keen to hear your thoughts on this.

Just an app with a type of social media experiment and no real use cases so far. Launching a blockchain isn't unique either but I think they can get hyped up due to the large base of KYCed users.

Secondly, I’m really not sure Pi will turn into anything. I’ve had the app for years, but ever since they started putting ads in, I’ve stopped believing anything will actually come of it.
If it does, then neat, I have 200ish. If not, oh well.

Same here. I'm not holding out much hope but anything is gravy at the minute lol. Judging by the replies here, though, things aren't looking good for us and fellow Pi holders lol.

Someone mentioned this Pi coin to me a few years ago saying it will be the next big thing. I had to ask him what the use case is for this coin and couldn't get a straight answer.

Nowadays, ripping people through cryptocurrency by offering them a dream is incredibly easy. There's smart people who'd avoid it, but then there's majority of it you can't help avoid getting ripped off. As a result, they are being an easy target of Data mining and KYC.

To be honest, a waste of time imo.
I remember when Pi launched and everyone started installing it on their phones for background mining.
Those I know who started it way back then, made very little profit in the very long time they've been background mining Pi.
