Black Ops is upon us and coming from a background in Halo esports I am glad that this new Call of Duty from Treyarch is going to redesign ranked play.

I don't look forward to any COD release now. All they care about is what they can do to maximize their player count and player retention. That's what every single update is about, it's never about keeping the player base happy. They will leave game breaking bugs for months but god forbid if there's a bug with the store or something that directly impacts their profits, they will stop everything they're doing and tend to that first.
There was a time where I couldn't even play COD for a month straight because there was a bug with an update that caused a memory leak and the game would lag horribly after like 15 minutes. You would have to restart your game after every match to fix it. Fuck the COD franchise.

I haven't been too hot on CoD for a long time, but if I do ever get on after the initial phase of playing it right upon release, it's for basically just ranked play. I don't think they're redesigning it based on what I've seen, but I do know it will be coming sooner than ranked play ever has before. So that's a W at least.
