What's a cause or charity you're passionate about supporting? - Prawnster - Oct 5, 2024

Thats if you have any, if you don't like supporting charity, maybe expand on why you don't like it?

I feel some charity is kinda bullshit and the fact that they spend like 80% of the money they make on payments and marketing is kinda frustrating but I guess it does kinda work because they are obviously helping people.

What do you think?

Yeah that's facts, I did some fund raising in college for breast cancer and in my last place I was doing sales we had the option to give like x amount of our commission to the UK breast cancer research people so I was doing that too :D

Yeah I think the Breast Cancer research is important and there are some good charities fighting to research it and hopefully one day cure it.

Cancer has taken a few people I've known and cared about in my life so I'll take whatever chance I can to say a big ole Fuck You to cancer.

Animal shelters and wildlife conservation charities are close to my heart.
I love supporting causes that help protect animals.

Problem with charity is a lot of them are pretty much scams, even the big names like Red Cross (iirc misappropriation of funds).
The whole 2012 Kony is a good reminder.

I've directly donated to a charity, but I have done volunteer work a few times. If I was going to donate, assuming I knew the charity was legit, I would probably pick something relating to cancer, local water and river cleanups, food for the homeless, or nature conservation.

Used to go volunteering. Have been in a lot and I came down to the conclusion that everything is in someone's profit.
We are f** animals, ready to have a feast on each others heart at the right moment

I'd rather donate to people I know are in need, you know, if you meet someone talk for a few months and they open up about some problems that could use a helping hand or some cash I'm always happy to help as long as it's genuine and the person works on repaying me, obviously I wont take it, if the person works his ass off, if it's a cunt who used me for money I expect full payment back.

Nowadays it's very hard to distinguish between people that genuinely need help and people that are just using you is the only issue I see with that one.
