Have you experienced any space events? - Eran - Oct 21, 2024

By space events I mean, a rare comet, meteor shower, aurora or any other space events, or did you maybe capture a cool space picture?

I will be getting into astrophotography after I take care of more important things soon that require money, but the thought of this new hobby excites me!

Personally I haven't experienced anything amazing. Maybe 15 years ago as a kid if I recall correctly there were some satellites being sent into the atmosphere and I could see it from my building, but that's about it.

I have no idea what I saw still to this day…

I was out in my local park years ago, late at night. Me and my friend, both just smokin on a joint.

I look up and coincidentally there is a bright light that is moving AT SPEAD. No sound, no exhaust fumes. Must be a satellite. Felt very alien like.

Yes I have seen a shooting star, its rare to see it here because of the pollution.

I don't think I've seen any of that... maybe just a comet falling here or there. I apologize, I don't mean to be discouraging, but I haven't seen any of these things before.

not since I got back from my Apollo 11 mission, badumtsss.

I have seen plenty on the night sky, mostly comets and satellites.

But one time I saw green flashing orbs in a cloud of what looked like wierd structures or something, which really freaked me and my friends out... However a few years later I learned that these where actually lightning bolts, a very rare kind of lightning bolts, that dont go to the ground but rather stay in the atmosphere and are like balls of lightning.

They are called Sprites and ball lightning. You should check it out, they are pretty darn cool :D

The closest I ever get to these is something like the Hunter's Moon from the other night. That was cool to see.

It legit lit up the entire sky at one point, far more than usual of course.

I haven’t experienced any major space events either, but I’d love to witness a meteor shower or see the Northern Lights one day.

I haven't experienced any space events myself. Well, the eclipse this past spring it got a little dark here during the day but nothing crazy.

Full and huge moon nights are such a vibe, cloudy or not.

We got our whole lives ahead of ourselves, I am definitely going for it one day!

Plenty of opportunities still, maybe you can follow space event dates in your area?

They really are man, especially if you got a chill girl and some weed to roll up to spend it with. 🌃

Doesn't always have to be "your girl" my man, can always just be that one chill girl you know who's down for anything as long as it's fun type of personality.

Yeah no worries brother I get it. My reply wasn't meant to be serious. I'm just not interested and don't have the time for any girl right now, despite wanting to occasionally.

I don't really have the time either, but I force myself to make it.

I'm the type of person who doesn't like being alone, I'm a very social person irl. So during downtime, even if I'm just at home relaxing, I'll often have a girl over or something just to hangout with and shit. Chill females just make the vibe "cozier" if that makes sense lol.
