Ability to tag all group members in group subforum posts. - Chrome - Oct 23, 2024 Would be a good idea if group owners and leaders had the ability to tag the entire group in posts within group subforums. This would be very handy for if there is a big announcement regarding changes or events etc. I know it should be on the individual members to keep an eye out for those and the onus is on leaders to monitor members activity. But if you have 50+ people in your group it can be tricky. RE: Ability to tag all group members in group subforum posts. - Jamika - Oct 23, 2024 This is good idea, you dont have then to mention them @@ one by one or even save them to file Hope this can be applied RE: Ability to tag all group members in group subforum posts. - Chrome - Oct 23, 2024 (Oct 23, 2024 06:27 AM)Jamika Wrote: This is good idea, you dont have then to mention them @@ one by one or even save them to file Yeah when posting either have an option to notify members or, have like @refactor@ which notifies all members. It will need to be something thats only availible to leaders otherwise it can cause heaps of spam. RE: Ability to tag all group members in group subforum posts. - InspectorGadget - Oct 23, 2024 As a group member, I would find this useful. I don't have alot of time to spend on HF, and I am known for forgetting about the group SF's - would be awesome if I could check my notifications to see what needs my attention. RE: Ability to tag all group members in group subforum posts. - Charlie Sheen - Oct 23, 2024 I suggested this to Omni a few weeks ago. He drew an outline of how much work would go into implementing it. Ultimately we both agreed that it's best to just have all members use the subscribe feature in the subforum. He did bring up the idea of force subscribing all members in each group.

RE: Ability to tag all group members in group subforum posts. - Cooligan - Oct 26, 2024 As always, I 100% support this suggestion. It would be so useful to have it. I can't remember what the outcome was of those threads, but unfortunately we haven't been able to get the feature yet. I'm sure there's a valid reason as to why, but nonetheless it'd be awesome to see implemented. It would be so useful to have it. Because I'm not so keen on execution. Will require sloppy logic in every single thread just for this one feature which I'm sure everyone thinks is handy but don't understand the overheard on it. I haven't thought of a good execution that I've liked. The best I've come up with is a notify feature on the groupcp for the owner only. Because I really don't want to add a hook into newpost and newreply for this. Some stuff just isn't worth the overheard. It's gonna get done. RE: Ability to tag all group members in group subforum posts. - Cooligan - Oct 29, 2024 (Oct 28, 2024 10:59 AM)Omniscient Wrote: Because I'm not so keen on execution. That's understandable. Lots of work for one feature that we have plenty of alternatives to already (copy & paste your groups memberlist, as a leader these are things you most likely have saved somewhere, etc..), or simply just post a group thread and wait to see who's actually active and replies. What about Convo though? The group chats we have in Convo already I mean. Would there be a possible way of implementing some sort of mass-group tagging feature there? I have no idea what type of work that would require, but it was just an idea that came to mind. Do y'all even get message notifications for those? I don't. I didn't even know people used that still lol RE: Ability to tag all group members in group subforum posts. - Omniscient - Oct 31, 2024 (Oct 30, 2024 02:31 PM)Nachfolger Wrote: Do y'all even get message notifications for those? That would be silly given the Convo is live and by the time someone gets the notification and looks, the message is long gone. Would also be an easy way to spam or harass someone. That's why for my MM clients, I always tell them to PM me instead so I get a notification for it. It'd be awesome if there was the ability to edit what convo's you want to notify you, and which ones you don't want. |
