Ransomware doesn't seem to change or get much smarter imo, seems to be almost like a barbarian strategy of making money online lmao

Ransomware is just a fancy Lock Screen with some additional features like remote data erasure, persistence, etc.

I was victim of one as a kid, but as an aspiring nerd, I didn’t tell my parents and managed to remove it and repair my computer.

At first I was like… wtf, I didn’t do that.

It said “your computer has been used to watch inn appropriate content online and had been locked until you pay a fine of £450 to the MET Police using the following payment details”.

I was like, well that sir, is a lie and I’m not showing this to my parents for them to panic and tell me off or be dumb and pay it.

So I just did some research and fixed it myself.

Ngl, I considered saying I borrowed the laptop to my sister the day before and I just turned it on to be met with this shit.

I felt bad, so I just took a step back, thought about it and decided I would try to fix it first.
