Elder Scrolls 6 - Tyr - Oct 31, 2024

Bethesda has confirmed that it has post-launch content in the works for its intergalactic adventure, indicating that the studio will not be solely dedicated to developing Elder Scrolls 6 for the foreseeable future. However, it's reassuring to see that progress on the project is on track, especially considering that Elder Scrolls 6 is anticipated to launch in early 2026. -----> If they do not move the darn date back again because of intellectual copyright issues and whatever crazy waterfall software assurance model they are using to develop the game engine. Maybe they are strategizing it to release it at the right time?

To be honest; I am fed up. They have been gaslighting us who grew up with Skyrim since they released the teaser trailer for the game 6 years ago. I must applaud them for building the suspense but if the game engine is not perfect after all of this time (pretty sure they are switching it) or there are bugs like in Skyrim I will be kind of upset because we've been waiting for this almost 7 years now.

Maybe in 15 years we will get a teaser of the teaser for the trailer. Who else is waiting for this game?

That's kinda crazy. It's taken them this long just to confirm it

Comments explain it all, lol. "I actually think that TES 6 will take place in our imagination if Bethesda keeps going so slow"

What's even crazier is that it isn't even officially confirmed for a specific date, though.

They're in a similar situation to Valve and Half Life 3 when it comes to TES:VI.
Whatever they do will be a disappointment compared to Skyrim and I doubt they'll not monetize mods for it. Also seeing how shitty games have been in the recent years, it's probably for the best they don't release TESVI. I was actually looking forward to starfield, veilguard and AC Shadows only for the devs to shit on them.

Yeah, exactly and it is the same excuse from Bethesda every single time. "Not enough time," remains their only excuse... I could understand if the lawsuit they had going on for a minute was still happening but this is just ridiculous.

I'd be quite surprised to see an early year launch for ES6 as it's not exactly in Bethesda's track record to have such a release window. I'd be thinking more the usual Q3-Q4. I suppose now that they're under Microsoft and depending on what other big releases are coming that year it could change, but considering how big of a release it is and also if they're previously proven to sell better following a latter quarter release, I'm sure they're already aiming for such a release window.

As for the year, 2026 is probably a bit of wishful thinking unfortunately. I'm personally thinking 2027, maybe even 2028. With how big of a release it is and them no doubt wanting to get this right as well as especially after Starfield (not a failure obviously, but no shot the success they hoped it would be or to X extent), I can't imagine them wanting to push it out the door too soon or Microsoft breathing down their neck to do so in any sort of a rush either. A game like ES6 is EXACTLY why Microsoft bought Bethesda in the first place so if they're not giving them everything in the world they need and that they can for that of all releases, it's GG.

Regardless of when it releases, I just hope it does so in the best state possible and with the devs truly 100% confident about it. That and of course I hope to love it anywhere close to the amount that I still love Skyrim to this day. Speaking of which, it's getting close to about that yearly time I dive into it for a while haha.

I just can’t wait anymore, it’s almost like the wait for GTA 6. I’ll forget about it until it drops or more info comes out.

I had someone troll me and convince me that they finally released the teaser for it and that it was going to be in Miami while I was... erm, in a "detention" center for a couple days >.>

I totally get that. The anticipation can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. Just like with GTA 6, it’s hard not to get excited when you know something awesome is coming. Focusing on other things until we get more news sounds like a solid plan! What other games are you playing in the meantime?
