Fantasize about Moving - Omniscient - Nov 2, 2024 I spent some of my spare time fantasizing about living somewhere else. And I don't mean in a different house, but in an entirely new State/City. Today I was looking at Witchita. I suppose I'm a restless soul. I think if it wasn't for my family I would move every 4-5 years. I like new places. I like the feeling of exploring something new. Sometimes it's part of my dreams. I've thought about Texas, Utah, N. Dakota, Arkansas and so many others. Not to mention the cities outside the USA like El Salvador or Costa Rica. Whenever I travel I just can't help but think, "what if I lived here". Vacations are nice to visit a place but I want more. I want to feel like I belong there, that I know the area, that people there know me as a local. Sadly with our short lives most of us will only live in a small handful of places. I envy military kids who got to move around to so many places. Anyways, this just me? I may understand other places in usa but what attracted u to El Salvador specially ? I wished i was born in usa or europe , but to live outside ? I think same but with different countries for sure RE: Fantasize about Moving - Tyr - Nov 2, 2024 Costa Rica is amazing. I had the luxury of going there years ago. It is the most beautiful place in the world. I stayed here. (Occidental Papagayo). HIGHLY recommend. Seriously, Omniscient. I've been all around the globe and this was the best vacation of my life and the vacation plan included was worth every cent back then. ANYWAY, I remember seeing this giant house on the water, posted up in the mountains after jet skiing around the beautiful blue aqua water. It was then I said to myself I want that to be my house in 40 years. I enjoyed Costa Rica but i could only see myself there for vacations. Never been to Salvador. But being which ive been to almost all 50 states, i have places that i really could see myself living in. N. Dakota is great if you are looking for large amounts of land but dont mind the winters. Texas was ok but couldn't see myself living there. Utah was cool especially with all the salt flats and mountains. I lived in Henderson NV, loved it there but the summers could be harsh. Wisconsin was bad either if you live outside the major cities. I miss traveling around and seeing more places. Wichita was nice but personally couldn't see myself there. RE: Fantasize about Moving - Mercury - Nov 2, 2024 You're not alone, I feel the same way. It's like an opportunity to have a fresh start. I occasionally travel for work and I always love to take in the differences where I am in comparison to my home area. It makes me want to start over in a new place with a clean slate. RE: Fantasize about Moving - Omniscient - Nov 2, 2024 Quote:Why Salvador ? I may understand other places in usa but what attracted u to El Salvador specially? 1. Bitcoin is legal tender 2. Crime plummeting 3. I have actual family friends who own 1000 acres there, I can easily buy an acre 4. Cost of living dirt cheap 5. Bukele is awesome RE: Fantasize about Moving - Purgatory - Nov 2, 2024 (Nov 2, 2024 03:28 PM)Omniscient Wrote: I spent some of my spare time fantasizing about living somewhere else. I mean, the only thing holding me back is probation. Me and my girlfriend live out of her car and I mean, really we could go anywhere we wanted to. If gas was no problem that is. RE: Fantasize about Moving - Charlie Sheen - Nov 2, 2024 I've moved around a fair bit. I have a hard time settling. When I bought my house in 2019 the one con to purchasing it was thinking about how I could potentially end up staying there 30 years. Sold it in 2022 and I've moved twice since then. I like finding better towns and better weather, nicer houses. I just moved here in June and I constantly thinking about how next move I would like to be in Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri. I've also considered Vegas and Colorado. RE: Fantasize about Moving - Doug Dimmadome - Nov 2, 2024 All the time... I moved to Dallas, Texas in 2020 for a year and it was probably the best year of my life. Wish I could move to a new city every 1-2 years and just tech nomad it for a while. I'm also with the person I'd like to start a family with tho and she's not really the live with less so you can move all the time type, understandable. Three dogs also doesn't help RE: Fantasize about Moving - Chrome - Nov 2, 2024 I would love to move the the UK. I also would move around if it wasn't due to family. Wouldn't mind living in Finland for a while too. RE: Fantasize about Moving - SoHighSociety - Nov 2, 2024 Move to Amsterdam! You will stay young for ever. When you live in a certain place for an extended amount of time, things become mundane and bland. A change of scenery and pace is always good. There are plenty of good places to move to and enjoy your life. The best part of the process is traveling to visit and experience them firsthand. It is normal to seek out change. Most people become too habituated to routine and settle for their current situation, change is healthy.... you learn to adapt to new environments and experience different paths of living. When you feel this way, you should follow your instinct and do what feels best. RE: Fantasize about Moving - sharn - Nov 3, 2024 I feel the same way. Sometimes a new place feels like the perfect solution to break out of the daily routine. Just the thought of new streets and faces can be energizing. |
