In order to do that, you'll need the Kc to complete the copy.

You can crack it by rainbow tables, perhaps it has gotten easier in the past 6 years since I tried last.

Google P1 Sec, if you don't find it, try to find the developer of SnoopSnitch, they made a ton of pentesting and security tools for mobile, like GSM RF sniffing and cracking, which I recall includes a step that has a guide on how to get the Kc.

For further information, try look up SIM application kit and dig into that, because that too will lead you to how you'd copy a SIM.

Though, you cannot use the same SIM on two phones, you need the carrier to assign you a different key to a new SIM. It's probably possible to use the same MSISDN/phone number/subscription on multiple SIM cards connecting to the same subscriber, but you need it assigned by the carrier or in a blackhat scenario by gaining SS7 access, that'll give you the Kc too.

I have a SIM card reader but have no idea what to do with it. Any suggestions of things to fuck around with?

With just the reader it's quite limited. Not sure what you'd want to read without a writer.
