I Managed to Crash My Motorbike Twice in One Journey - Effexion - Nov 22, 2024
The roads were icy and the skies full of hail and snow but I had places I needed to be. I decided to brave the elements and take my bike out; this turned into an expensive mistake.
I first started fishtailing as soon as I came off the main roads, so I whacked on those hazards, dangled my feet for support and dropped my speed down to around 10 MPH. The back wheel flicked on occasion, causing brief moments of panic, but I kept her upright right until I was pulling into the kerb at my destination. The wheel just went completely, throwing me to the ground where I landed on my shoulder and back.
After wheeling my bike off the icy back streets, I took a moment to take stock and assess the damage. The gear lever was jammed in a 12 O'clock position but I continued home (albeit loudly and stuck in second).
Screaming in second and with a sore side, I got my beloved steed (almost) all the way home, where I came off again when mounting the pavement at a drop-kerb.
I managed to realign the gear lever but my fairings are full of scrapes. 😖

A little sore but I still have all my limbs lol. It's my only form of transport, so sadly I need to ride it in all weathers.

Boy you are lucky if you didn't do yourself damage.
Bikes on water is a no go let alone on ice. Specially if it is running at any decent speed.

I'm really glad you're okay man but for fuck's sake...I would never take my crotch rocket out with snow/ice on the ground.
