Weird Night - DemoTester - Dec 3, 2024 I thought id bring this to HF because it was a very strange evening i had. And maybe someone who has trucking experience can mention some ideas. So I live in a wooded area and I've lived here for years. There is only one road that runs around the lake were i live and there are no side streets except the few driveways. The only cars that come through are people that live here and if they are going to the lake or a short cut to the highway. But trucks sometime accidently take the road to get to the highway but they get stuck when they see the 9-2 clearance bridge. Luckily for them i work from home and i let them back into my driveway to get turned around during the day. There is a sign at the beginning for the road that says 9-2 bridge 1 mile. I was driving home last night and it was about 11pm and while i was on this road a semi truck was coming up behind me and i know it was a semi at first because i saw the clearance lights and the trailer lights. I got worried for the driver because half a mile past my house is the 9-2 clearance bridge. There is no roads or pull offs before that bridge. I'm the last house before the bridge so i had the idea that i will quickly pull into my driveway and turn around and try to stop the truck and i would let him pull into my driveway and back out to turn around. I pulled into my drive way and right as i was turning around he came barreling past the driveway and i could see it was a large tractor trailer and he was using his engine brake. i quickly gunned it to catch him at the bridge hoping he would stop but when i got to the bridge there was no truck. Even looking past the bridge i saw no lights and no sounds. Where the fuck did he go? There is no way he made it under that bridge and there was no where for him to pull off and even if he turned around he would have passed me. The lake entrance was on the other side of the bridge. I looked at the bridge and there was zero damage and there was no sign that he went off the road. My neighbor even showed up at the bridge about 5 minutes after me and said "you heard the truck too, did he hit the bridge?". My neighbor was as confused as i was. Still don't know how that truck made it under that bridge. I don't believe in this "it was a ghost truck" like my wife says because it was a newer red truck and no trucks have ever crashed here. One hit the bridge before but that was a dump truck trying to go to the lake last year. Sorry for the long post there was just a lot to cover. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe it was a ghost semi-truck that was behind you... 😲 RE: Weird Night - ZLOY - Dec 3, 2024 It actually sounded like a ghost story, kind of spooky. I would also love to live in a wooded area. RE: Weird Night - Miles Teller - Dec 4, 2024 Hmm. Maybe somehow he did clear the bridge? I have no clue thats a spooky/weird story for sure |
