Lost iPhone - Charlie Sheen - Dec 23, 2024
My daughter lost my wifes work iPhone somewhere in the house. We know it's in the house since she was on facetime with her cousin before she lost it. We've torn apart the bedrooms and can't find it. It's on silent so we can't call it. She tried to login the the find my iphone site, but it says she needs to login from a device. I tried asking ChatGPT. It says I should let her use my phone to login to her account and then use the find my device? Will that work?
I don't use iPhone except for work so I don't want something to mess up and delete all my contacts and data.

If you can access 'find my iPhone' you can let the iPhone play a sound.

That's the problem, it's saying because she's never logged into Find My iPhone before she needs to login through a device, but her device is lost. ChatGPT says to let her use my device and login with that and then it should let her on the site. I just don't want it to delete all my data. I'm not used to iPhones.

You can try calling to the device . If there is no sim , maybe WiFi is still connected try calling on whats app / any social media if that works.

Sounds dumb but if you be quiet and go to each room and shout "Hey Siri" she bypasses silent mode

Also, does she have a contact saved as an emergency contact for both my wife and my work phone that bypasses it too
But if she should allow her to log into iPhone and locate it never had that error before

We never setup Siri since it's a work phone. If she logs in on my phone, will that delete anything?

if she can login on your phone then she will be able to use find my phone

Alright we will give it a shot. I just didn't want her to login and it wipe all my data.
