Hello, I am not much of a hacker, But I have ran out of places to got to look for answers. I need some help to Setup Arch Linux using proot-distro but it gets better.
I am running Proot-Distro Arch Linux Arm version for arm architecture. The packages are for armv7h even though i have a armv7l processor, on a 32 inch Acer smart tv. I don't have access to the firmware from the manufacturer so i cannot root the TV using magisk. Its a Android 11 smart tv
Here are the TV Specs:
Acer V Series Pro 32 inch smart tv.
CPU:Realtek RTD2841a SOC, quad core Arm Cortex A55 1ghz to 1.2ghz frequency
Architecture: armv7l armeabi-v7a 32 bit
GPU: Mali G31 MP2, Open GL ES3.2
Ram: 1.5gb
Storage: emmc flash 5.1 Foresee 16gb
OS: Android 11 SDK30
USB 2.0 2 ports
Hdmi 2 ports
AV or composite video
Coax
Display: is the TV screen
Audio jack
Linux Kernal i don't know, i have to look it up
Ethernet 100 no wifi capability
I have access to the developer options of the TV and i have installed termux and all dependencies for proot and proot-distro to my knowledge. I am a linux beginner and need help to get Arch Linux desktop environment running.
I have installed the lxde desktop, lightdm, xorg, lightdm gtx greeter, git,i have the vnc viewer apk installed on my tv but i don't know why i would need vnc viewer,
Some think that its pretty awesome that i got linux cmd line running on a smart tv. I was hoping someone on here would know how to start the desktop environment. I think i have installed everything to start a desktop but i don't know how to start it.
Also if anyone knows how to root this device i would be open to doing that. But my goal is just get linux running on it and i have done that with proot.
Its a import TV from india.
No one has ever done this i guess cause i can't find anything on google about it. Or at least this particular device. So we would be swimming in uncharted waters together.

I would like for someone to walk me through installation of Arch Linux Arm using proot distro. The root filesystem installs automatically and there is not boot or grub and there is not partitioning of the disk so you don't have to do any of that. I have a usb stick attached to the tv that is 256gb. I do not know if i can use that as part of the system though. I also have a usb hub.
I modified the TV with low esr capacitors, emi filter plug, better thermal paste, better heat sink and a fan so it is like a mini pc in a way.
I don't want to brick my tv so i don't want to try anything 2 crazy. thanks for reading

I have done some crazy stuff before, but Linux on an Android TV is next level. I didn't even know that you could run X Windows in Termux.
