Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - Omniscient - Jan 13, 2025 From the site Moonpay where you can buy/sell crypto as a fiat on/off ramp. I'm tired of these fucking liars who say their fees are small but in reality it's more like 6-7%. From their website.... Quote:Exact fee amounts depend on the payment method used, and may range from 1-4.5% on moonpay.com/sell So you go make an order...1500 DOGE as an example but do this yourself and see how fucked they are. ![]() Same moment actual DOGE value (coingecko API price)... ![]() That's 6.5% fee. Nowhere even close to the 1-4.5% they say. I dare you to find any quote in the SELL which is under 5%. They are fucking LIARS and I'm getting rather fed up with all these crypto places gouging users for fees higher than a credit card provider. And yes, I'm aware that there are cheaper solutions but I'm looking around at fiat off-ramps comparing pricing and it just amazes me these place get away with lying to customers. Where is the consumer protection services? I'm really hoping this thread gets indexed and other people start to notice their bullshit and FCC goes after them. You can't just lie to consumers like that in America, we don't put up with it. RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - Tyr - Jan 13, 2025 They aren't the first ones to pull these kind of shenanigans though if we are to be honest. Look what CB did with implementing their premium feature for an outrageously high price; drove away many users. They are making way too much though, that's criminal right there man. RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - Omniscient - Jan 13, 2025 What's funny is how the more regulation there is, the more consumers are ripped off. Government is a scam, they aren't for The People. RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - Charlie Sheen - Jan 13, 2025 I've used them before when I was desperate and they do charge outrageous fees. I try to avoid them if I can. RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - PappyProxy - Jan 13, 2025 I've seen moonpay has quieted down on wallets/exchanges. When I purchase I am mainly using Mercury this time as the best gateway provider rate.. RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - Mewtwo - Jan 13, 2025 This website has been breached by hackers too, every customer information is exposed. I’d watch out for those phishing emails https://www.reddit.com/r/phishing/comments/1hwfpju/moonpay_spam_phishing/ RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - Omniscient - Jan 13, 2025 (Jan 13, 2025 11:30 AM)Charlie Sheen Wrote: I've used them before when I was desperate and they do charge outrageous fees. I can almost swallow the shitty high fees. But when I saw that 1-4.5% in their documents I lost my shit. The nerve to just lie like that to the American Public. It's an injustice, it's FRAUD. RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - Pr0m3th3us - Jan 13, 2025 It’s no different than going to buy a car at a dealership and getting slapped with a bunch of hidden fees. Or going to the ER and getting hit with hidden and inflated fees. Companies lie every single day on advertisements…literally every commercial nowadays is a lie in itself. Americans don’t care and companies like this know the average person doesn’t have the money to sue them for it. I honestly don’t see the government doing anything about this. RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - Omniscient - Jan 13, 2025 This is why Class-Actions exist. Should rally every single order gone through their system, we'd all get about 50% fee refund if not more. Unfortunately the lawyers win in Class Actions. RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - SUI-3183372 - Jan 13, 2025 Fuckers acquired https://www.hel.io/ today. Won't be long until they kill that service. RIP RE: Moonpay.com Lies [FRAUD ALERT] - DramaKing - Jan 14, 2025 I remember Moonpay charging me ~10%. I thought that was high, but I just figured that it was a normal crypto price. |
