New Class Upgrade System: Bring Back the Old Way! - Rooney00 - Jan 15, 2025
“I’ve been a member of this forum for quite some time and always appreciated the effort and time it took to collect bytes to earn a class upgrade. It felt rewarding and fair, giving everyone a chance to rise through the ranks based on their engagement and contributions to the community.
Now, it seems the only way to upgrade is by purchasing the class outright, which takes away the sense of achievement we used to have. This shift feels more like a pay-to-win system rather than encouraging active participation and loyalty.
I understand forums need to generate revenue, but is there no way to keep the old system alongside the new one? Maybe offer both options so members can choose? I’d love to hear others’ thoughts on this. Am I the only one missing the old system?”

A lot of scammers were abusing it. They were making accounts, purchasing 2500 bytes for a couple dollars to upgrade and then scamming members.
I don't know if that was the reason behind the removal but I'm sure it played a role.

I never noticed that it was removed until now but I knew this would inevitably end up happening unfortunately. :/

I have months being an everyday poster to gain those bytes and now i just have to spend on slots,i donth thonk this is the meaning of the bytes.

But we are not the same users so maby Admin should see the role of everyone the time spending on forum poster and everything if its something real why to keep me limited

I used bytes many times , but the pov was that some just join and buy bytes to upgrade then take same advantage , 2500 bytes for max 6.50 usd will be better for sure , but its anyways omni decision

The Bytes upgrade was actually very new.

So for you to say it's an "old system" is not accurate. It was 2 years ago and HF is nearly 18 years old.
And it was removed because it caused way too many problems with scammers.
I assume if you built up enough bytes, someone would trade them from you for an upgrade.
