Asking AI to Record Keystrokes in Go, Python, C++, Java - Hackers - Jan 17, 2025

I wanted to see if an LLM could create code in each language, to record keypresses and log a message if I use a SHIFT+G keybind. The idea is that this could be used to have custom keybinds. It also shows how you can get keycodes / keystrokes in various languages: Go, C++, Python, and Java.

PROMPT:
Code
Create a _____ program that listens for SHIFT+G keybind and prints msg , and if not shift+g it prints the key + "not valid" instead. for windows

No problem!
I’ve been testing LLM censorship periodically to see what’s possible and this type of prompt has always worked - I hadn’t tested it with monitoring like this before but have with similar types of requests. As long as you have a valid reason for the underlying code, it’ll write it.
