Inauguration Eve - Hackers - Jan 19, 2025 Well boys and girls, it is time. Tomorrow Donald Trump will be our official President of the United States, also known as POTUS. As the leader of the free world, the president has a lot of influence, but will have to get measures passed by Congress for anything that can’t be immediately enforced with an executive order. Some changes will happen quick and others will trickle in. I hope we all have a solid & fruitful 4 years! I hope both sides of the aisle can work together in DC, knowing the people all want the same thing anyways - a better America. With some luck perhaps we’ll get it, but only time will tell. Happy Inauguration Eve RE: Inauguration Eve - Prepper - Jan 19, 2025 Best thing we can hope for is Trump does good and both sides work together to get shit done. I want Trump to succeed as President, any American who doesn't needs to come back to reality. Agreed, I hope he is successful at making America great. I hope there’s a balance between healthy disagreement and pushing for actual change - less filibuster mindsets, and more actual negotiation from both sides. I do worry though, there is so much division between both Democrats and Republicans there has not been that much bipartisan work that is even worth talking about the past 4 years. RE: Inauguration Eve - Klonopin - Jan 19, 2025 I wonder if he is still going to pardon Ross Ulbricht on day one. I think everyone is tired of the division, from both sides - for better or worse, we should at least try out new ideas and work together rather than continuing to do nothing. For example in the very early 2000s I was privileged enough to have laptops and computers fully integrated in every classroom, as a young kid. This is something that our education system still lacks for all ages these days, which is absurd in a way. But if you put this up into congress, it would never get passed because it would either be too much to give to all schools, or people would be upset if grants were only given to some. Instead of figuring out a way to improve education, our government has historically just argued into inaction instead. Now, take this same problem and observe it in healthcare, defense, real estate, crypto adoption and regulation, or any other issue and you can see why we are falling behind other more efficient countries. I hope we can be more efficient. We're the world's superpower. We should be dominating in each generation but we're falling behind and not allowing our economy to be as strong as it can be. That goes for both sides of politics if we don't work together better. There is a red majority in many areas though, so I do think there will be some rapid changes put into place. If midterms flip and there is less of a majority, I am hoping to see more negotiations from the blue side of the room, and vice versa in any single 2-4 year period. So yeah, commuting his sentence makes sense. Time flies RE: Inauguration Eve - Eran - Jan 19, 2025 As a European all I really care about is how this affects the crypto market tbh. RE: Inauguration Eve - Ѕystem - Jan 19, 2025 Well said, OP. I couldn't have said it better myself. Let's see what all happens. RE: Inauguration Eve - Hackers - Jan 19, 2025 (Jan 19, 2025 01:18 PM)Ѕystem Wrote: Well said, OP. I do hope we can avoid tariffs and instead actually try to enact other collaborations that encourage investment from other countries to support US goods. |
