Notification for Site News - Neil - Jan 25, 2025
it’d be a cool idea to get a notification every time Omni post any major site news. Just a cool way for all members to be more informed on new site news & anything that happens on-site.

There's a subscribe feature that you can use to get notifications. Press the flag in the top right corner and choose from these options

Actually, since working to fix the Notifications on First Post I can probably get more creative with notifications. A setting for "Site News Threads Created by Admins" could be added.
Basically I have a handle on the notify code now and can make adjustments as well as add new features. It's not the best code but it works. I may write it up into a class.

I mean, is there any way to make it where all users are subscribed? Site News are definitely important to know for new and older members & it’d be great to get a auto notification so everyone’s kept up to date whenever new stuff occurs

If I want all members to get a notification I have tools for that. :)

I'm not seeing why everyone should be forced to subscribe to this. If you're interested in site news, subscribe to that section. If you're interested in threads from Omni, follow him. Don't force this on everyone just because you want it.

Agreed. But a setting for "Site News from Admins" might work well.

Was thinking this just now. Not sure how it is currently, but if the site news section was admin posted only and made public, you could use an RSS feed converter to notify you of posting.
