Prevent ignored users from reading threads - Hackers - Feb 12, 2025
I remember there was a time where I don't think I was able to view someone's threads if they had me on ignore.
i thought this was a wonderful feature, but at some point this stopped. Maybe I misremembered, but I was fairly certain this was in place?
Specifically, I think when people ignore people it's for good reason. I think ignoring is a great feature, but it's not complete. It does block private messages, but it does not block their messages in shared convo.php. That part might be fine for keeping conversations fluid. For that reason my suggestion is only to enforce the ignore list in threads.
Most people add someone to their ignore list when they absolutely do not need to interact with them. Between convo.php and open thread access, the ignore list is not extremely effective at ignoring users.

How it is now is default MyBB behavior and has never been altered.
We altered that you can't view a members profile page if on Ignore and some features like Notify will respect the Ignore List.
When you add someone to your ignore list, it's so you don't see their content. It's not a "Hide Me From" list.
