Coffee Nerds Assemble - Clue - Feb 20, 2025

Right I need some good recommendations of a bean to cup machine.

Nothing too crazy expensive and something good for a beginner that’s been living his life off of instant coffee.

It’s time to grow up - but there’s so many different variants and options I don’t have a clue where to start (if you’ll pardon the pun)

Let me know your thoughts.

#1 want a milk froth :)

Do you have a set budget? Most fairly decent/good ones here in the UK run you around the £500-600 budget.

I don't have the best knowledge on these machines but we have a "The barista express - SAGE" machine at home.

I clicked on the thread expecting slightly different content since I'm a full time coffee barista lol

Hahah it’s funny, I was actually speaking to someone the other day who recommended a Sage.

Honestly, anywhere between £100-300 - even up for looking at second hand.

I know the taste is superior, but don’t want to spend loads of money on something I could give up with after a few months so wanted to test the waters.

Check the De'Longhi brand they have decent machines that can fit a wide range of budgets

I have the traditional home brew coffee pot (12 cups) and I have a cappuccino/espresso machine as well that brews per cup. I buy the capsules of star bucks black coffee and also there is another store brand for the cappuccino and espresso capsules. I'm high on coffee all day, every day. And at least half the night as well, daily. Only God knows how I've probably shortened my life spam because of my daily routine.

I bought my DeLonghi brand new for 250-odd quid in a sale 3+ years ago, it's a powerhouse and has been used multiple times daily to no fault, stays clean too.

Wait for a good deal like black Friday (I don't know the current state of Amazon's deals), or get one second hand like you said

Yeah not sure how that relates to coffee but good luck. Maybe you could become a barista?

Lmao @ this, brother saw your post about coffee and thought it's time for a change of careers

Off-topic but curious if you know, but how come there's so many new accounts that post a couple times then are closed/exiled? Alts or just closed for LQ spam?

Whatever you make don't ruin the coffee with milk

RE: Coffee Nerds Assemble - Clue - Feb 24, 2025

Thanks all for opinions. I ended up ordering a De’Longhi Stilosa EC260 because it was cheap and cheerful.

Made a couple coffees already and much better than instant haha

Are Keurig cup users the basic bitches of the coffee industry? If so I'll take it lol
