No short answers! tell me a story about some nostalgia - 777 - Mar 13, 2025

Tell me your most nostalgic memory of first discovering social media comparing then to now.

Man, discovering social media back then felt like stepping into a whole new world. I remember logging into MySpace for the first time, customizing my profile, and spending way too much time picking the perfect profile pic. Everything felt raw and personal—no algorithms deciding what you saw, just friends sharing whatever was on their minds. One time, I was casually scrolling in front of my dad when a you-know-what video popped up out of nowhere… let’s just say I didn’t survive that day. 😂 Fast forward to now, and it’s a whole different game—more polished, more addictive, and definitely more chaotic. Sometimes I miss the simplicity of it all

I don't remember a particular story, but I remember some of my older friends browsing MySpace.

Was MSN Messenger a social media ? Damn I miss this one tho, I wish I could remember more stories, I feel so nostalgic when I hear MSN sounds

Social medias back in the days were so much better, the Internet in general. People used to be themselves, now it's full of superficial people. Lot of things used to be free, now people sell everything. The true essence of the Internet is dying

I remember the excitement of creating my first MySpace profile and customizing it with all the cool layouts and music. It felt so personal and unique compared to the standardized profiles on today's social media platforms.
