WTF RE: Walmart's Easter meal kit leaves out the eggs - Prepper - Mar 26, 2025 I know Biden imported a lot of eggs and Trump is also reportedly going to import a lot of eggs as well in an attempt to lower costs but we will still likely see corporate greed at play here, while wholesale prices may fall even further greed will keep the prices high for consumers because these corporations will continue to take advantage of what is honestly a serious situation. I remember when 60 eggs at Walmart just a few years ago was under $6, luckily I do not need to buy eggs as I have a constant farm fresh supply and luckily have had no bird flu issues but others around have. If you are able to I highly recommend you get yourself some egg layers. How do you compare farm fresh eggs to the grocery store? I see a lot of ads on craigslist where I can buy a dozen for $5 + delivery. Is it worth the price/effort? Well if you get your own egg layers you know how they are treated, you know what you feed them, I recommend allowing them to free range a good bit but use feed as needed. And there is a difference at least with mine, the yolks are darker it has a better flavor and overall they are considered to have a better nutritional value compared to store bought. Fresh eggs that are unwashed also last longer, you do not necessarily have to refrigerate them, this is why in Europe for example they do not refrigerate eggs even at stores. Watch some videos on it, see what you think like I said you do not need a lot if you are just supplying yourself/family. I am not going to get chickens, just too much to handle with my situation. I want to buy them. Always feeling something is off with the store bought eggs. I understand factory farm is garbage and just plain simple evil for those poor chickens having to live like some kind of living machine. So I am very interesting in these eggs. I would go for it then, around my area we have local farms where you can go pick the cow you want and they will process it for you, the Amish are also big around here and have amazing little stores. A lot of smaller farms here in regards to eggs for example will put out signs $5/dozen RE: Walmart's Easter meal kit leaves out the eggs - Rsynced - Mar 28, 2025 (Mar 27, 2025 09:36 PM)Prepper Wrote: I would go for it then, around my area we have local farms where you can go pick the cow you want and they will process it for you, the Amish are also big around here and have amazing little stores. Yes, It is like that here too! I know a guy that will butcher any meat you want and you can pretty much buy any animal. RE: Walmart's Easter meal kit leaves out the eggs - The Joker - Apr 21, 2025 Walmart's Easter 2025 meal kit will notably exclude eggs due to the ongoing shortages and high prices caused by a bird flu outbreak among poultry. The new kit, priced at less than $6 per person, includes ingredients like ham, russet potatoes, corn on the cob, and a cream cake, but omits eggs, which were part of last year's offering. The exclusion comes as egg prices soar and shortages continue, with Walmart limiting purchases of large cartons of eggs. The retailer is not implementing broad purchase limits but continues to monitor supply issues. RE: Walmart's Easter meal kit leaves out the eggs - Rsynced - Apr 21, 2025 Walmart sucks, nuff said...
